Nineteen (XIX) Restaurant + Bar Officially Opens
We're always excited to see our building projects completed and introduced to the public at opening events. This is especially so when the events are carried out with such enthusiasm.
On July 19th, Quinte's most anticipated new restaurant Nineteen (XIX) Restaurant + Bar officially opened. The event included a wide variety of local dignitaries and well-wishers who came to the Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club to experience what all the fuss is about.
Nineteen will be open year-round and is a full service restaurant and bar that serves lunch and dinner. The lunch menu offers a lighter fare suitable for golfers, the business community or anyone who wants to enjoy light and delicious lunch specialties. Nineteen also offers a fine up-market dinner menu featuring memorable international cuisine, complimented with fine wines, and using locally grown produce, beef, poultry, artisan hand crafted breads and locally produced cheeses.
"It's not just for golfers, although they will enjoy sitting on the beautiful patio enjoying a glass of wine and a tasty lunch after a round," says Roger Lichty, owner. "It's been an exciting project that many have been anticipating for quite some time." Mr. Lichty then went on to thank all the businesses who supported the construction project, including local builders Bel-Con Design-Builders Ltd., and Maclnroy-Maines Construction Ltd.
"The menu is traditional food but with modern flare. We use good local ingredients and have relationships with local suppliers and farms. The menu includes something for everyone whether it be chicken wings or duck confit." says Executive Chef Chris Harvey.
Several members of the Bel-Con team were on hand for the opening and can happily verify that food is fantastic!
The Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club was built in 1921 and has evolved from its original 9-hole course to a par-71 championship course. Over the years, the course has hosted numerous Provincial and National championships. The Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club is a parkland course, with a natural setting amidst trees, mosses, ferns and grasses; it is a welcoming environment for both golfers and wildlife.
Nineteen (XIX) Restaurant + Bar was only one part of the continuing evolution of the Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club. Phase 2, which we anticipate starting in late summer, will be the construction of the new Pro Shop and Member facility.
